Strategic partners
Cooperation is the key for hydrogen infrastructure development.
The ACTIVA project is made possible by the shared commitment of many key players in the sector who have come together with a common goal: to develop a network of hydrogen refueling stations in Spain. This initiative is the result of collaboration between private companies, public entities, and hydrogen experts who share a vision of advancing sustainable mobility in our country.
Through this joint effort, ACTIVA positions itself as an innovative and efficient solution to expand hydrogen infrastructure, meeting both current and future market needs. Together, we are paving the way towards a cleaner and more sustainable future for everyone.

Distribution of hydrogen refueling stations in Spain.
ACTIVA II: 30 stations in Spain by 2028
50 between CEF I and CEF II
With a unique approach, ACTIVA will accelerate the development of hydrogen refueling infrastructure in Spain, in full compliance with AFIR.
Our goal is to establish 2 to 6 stations in each geographical area, ensuring customers have multiple refueling options to build confidence in hydrogen mobility.
Deep understanding of hydrogen technology.
More than 20 years experience in design, operation and logistics of hydrogen are combined in ACTIVA.
The experience gained from 90 hydrogen projects, combined with a nonconformist attitude that continuously challenges the status quo, is embodied in the development of ACTIVA — the most efficient way to advance hydrogen infrastructure.

Innovation is the key for development.
Rethink and challenge everything
Have you ever wondered why hydrogen refueling stations are designed the way they are today? Why do they require such large storage tanks and powerful compressors?
The reason is quite simple: until recently, hydrogen could only be transported at 200 bar. There was literally no other way to move it.
Because of this, stations had to:
- Install large compressors to increase the pressure to 500 bar for refueling at 350 bar, and up to 900 bar for refueling at 700 bar.
- Have stationary storage tanks to hold hydrogen compressed at 500 and 900 bar.
However, new developments have changed the game.
Recent technological advancements in storage now allow hydrogen to be transported at 500 bar, and even up to 900 bar.
If we leverage this new technology and deliver hydrogen at these higher pressures, do we still need large compressors and stationary storage? The answer is clear: we do not.
This is where ACTIVA makes a difference. At ACTIVA, we integrate the latest technological advancements into our operations. We continuously rethink and simplify every step of the process to offer the most efficient solution for developing hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
